About the event

Sikhi is the 5th largest religion in the world, yet many around the world misunderstand or misjudge it. This may or may not be intentional, as Sikhs in India continue to be persecuted by the Indian Government. In America, Sikhs are labeled as terrorists because of their iconic turbans and beards. The truth about Sikhs is that they are far from evil, instead, they are more like the "modern Jedi", showing up to feed and serve communities in times of crisis. Sikh temples are notoriously inclusive and open for anyone of any faith. They always have delicious, free and healthy meals for anyone to enjoy, and harmonious music for anyone to find moments of melodious peace with. This session will be a dynamic exploration of Sikhi from a Sikh who rediscovered his relationship to it during his adulthood after experiencing racism in America throughout his childhood.
