About the Speaker
Susan is a national speaker and award-winning author. She is committed to helping couples enrich their
marriages, parents inspire their children, and everyone to deepen their faith. Susan lives in Covington, KY with her husband. Jim. They have 4 adult children who wander the world in search of meaning. On a professional level, she graduated from U.D. and has a masters in counseling from Western
Michigan University in Kalamazoo, MI. Susan has worked as a social worker, diocesan family minister, speaker, and writer. She attends St. Francis de Sales Parish in Cincinnati, is a member of the Anawim faith Community, and has been a vowed Lay Marianist for 50 years.
About 10 years ago, Susan started delving more deeply into environmental issues. After working to reduce her own personal impact on the environment, she started narrowing her focus on the impact of plastics on the environment. She then narrowed her emphasis even further to
reducing Single Use Plastics (SUPs). Now, she tries to blend all these interests – family, faith, volunteer work, and environmental
commitments to contribute to a more loving way of life on Planet Earth.
For this event, she will focus on practical tips for simplifying our lives to lead a more sustainable life. Susan’s current specialty is
reducing our consumption of single use plastics.

Trivia note: Susan gave away one thing a day for a year and ate on $4.50 a day for six weeks. Her blog,
Living Lightly, chronicles these experiences at www.SusanVogt.net/blog
