According to the Center for Gun Violence Solutions at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, 48,117 people died by firearms in the United States in 2022, an average of one death every 11 minutes. Seemingly, no place is safe from gun violence. Residential settings, schools, houses of worship, shopping centers, and entertainment venues are places where we are vulnerable to the possibility of being injured or killed by people wielding guns. Is injury or death by firearms inevitable? The presenter of this forum will offer ideas on the roles faith communities can play in preventing gun violence.
